The Washington girls basketball team picked up their second win of the season on Tuesday night, defeating St. Thomas More 54–44 in a game defined by toughness, tempo, and timely execution. Washington set the tone early with active defense and confident ball movement, creating scoring opportunities that helped them build momentum throughout the first half. St. Thomas More battled to stay within reach, but the Panthers’ pressure and pace kept the visitors on their heels. In the second half, Washington’s composure showed. They answered every push with poise — securing rebounds, finishing through contact, and knocking down key shots to maintain control. As the clock wound down, the Panthers tightened up defensively and closed the game with the kind of energy that reflects a team growing in confidence and identity. This win marks another step forward for a group that’s learning how to compete together, trust each other, and finish games strong. The Panthers continue to build, one possession at a time.
